Please read these guidelines carefully before placing your order. It is very important for me to have a nice clear photo to work from because it ensures the painting can be the best it can be. If I have a poor photo then it could take twice as long on a painting that is half as good. I want my customers to be 100% satisfied with my work so it is important to me that my paintings reflect my best work.
- Lighting: I need a photo that is taken with good lighting, the best is if they are facing natural light. That means I can see the twinkle in their eye!
- Pose: The pose has to be flattering to the pet. So for example, cropped photos or photos from an awkward angle will not make for flattering portraits. The same as humans, we want to show off their cutest side!
- Resolution: If you follow the guidelines above then resolution becomes less vital, most camera phones take wonderful photos. Saying that, make sure you send me the original full resolution photo. Screenshots, Facebook and Instagram photos are often edited and will automatically dull down resolution.
- If you are looking to order a portrait for more than one pet, I can work from separate photos of each pet but they need to be taken at roughly the same angle.
Here are some examples with my trusty Pipa to illustrate the points above:
If you are still unsure about anything, no problem at all, you can email me at email@example.com. If you are intending a portrait as a surprise gift and you don't have enough photos then consider a gift voucher as an option.
